First week archery elk was amazing despite some heartbreaking misses. We had 7 elk hunters. Three of them had bear and deer tags as well.  We went 6/7 (86%) on shot opportunities at elk. We had a spike and a cow killed. We had a 6x6, a 6x5, and a cow missed, as well as other young bulls and cows passed. We had no shots at bears, but were 100% at shots at mule deer bucks. Unfortunately, no deer were harvested.
